Marvel Movies in Chronological Order
Captain America (Set In 1940s)

Captain Marvel (Set In 1990s)
Kree, a noble warrior alien race, is up against another evil alien race, the Skrulls.
During a fight, Vers (Captain Marvel), crashes into the earth where she discovers her powers and turns into Captain Marvel.
According to the chronological order, this is also the movie in which the character Nick Fury is properly introduced.
Iron Man (Set In 2010)
A defense contractor company owner and business tycoon, Tony Stark, realizes that his products are being smuggled to terrorist organizations after he is captured and imprisoned by one of the terrorist groups.
Vowed to make things right he escapes the captivity by making an iron suit for himself. which he later perfects to become the iron man to fight injustice around the world.
Iron Man 2 (Set In 2010)
After ‘Iron Man’ becomes a worldwide phenomenon, the US government pressurizes Tony Stark into sharing the technology for the suit.
But fearing to mishandling of technology he refuses. Simultaneously, a scientist in Russia copies Iron Man’s technology to pursue a vendetta against Tony Stark. Whom Tony Stark must stop at all cost.
The Incredible Hulk (Set In 2010)
In the ending of Iron Man 2, you can catch a glimpse of Hulk’s introduction. Dr. Bruce Banner is recreating a World War II super-soldier experiment to make soldiers immune from gamma radiation, but a faulty experiment causes gamma poisoning that turns him into a monster full of rage, ‘Hulk’.
Banner wants to find a cure and return to lead a normal life but the military wants to weaponize his condition.
Thor (Set In 2010)
Just as Thor prepares to ascend Asgard’s throne as the new king, a mistake causes him to reignite a dormant war between the two races (Asgardians and Frost Giants).
Due to his arrogance, Thor is stripped from his powers and banished to earth. But forces are preparing to destroy Asgard.
Thor must prove himself worthy and save his home from befalling harm.
The Avengers (Set In 2012)
Loki is determined to subjugate earth, for which he teams up with an extraterrestrial race known as Chitauris. Nick Fury, along with his defense agency S.H.I.E.L.D, tries to group together all the superheroes i.n. Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, The Hulk, Thor and Hawkeye fight together against the alien invasion and protect the earth. Thanos is also introduced in this movie.
Iron Man 3 (Set In 2012)
Set six months after ‘The Avengers, Tony Stark is experiencing PTSD after the alien attack. Meanwhile, another villain surfaces, known as Mandarin who is conducting a string of bombing around the world, but the intelligence agencies are unable to trace him.
While openly challenging Mandarin, Tony Stark reveals his home address. This causes Mandarin to attack his house and kidnap his wife. Now, Tony Stark must save his wife and the world from this evil.
Thor: The Dark World (Set In 2013)
As an ancient weapon is unleashed, so are the evil forces that had been imprisoned for eons.
Threatening the nine realms and his family, Thor must stop the evil forces battling the evil through various portals and multiple worlds.
Captain America: Winter Soldier (Set In 2014)
Adapting to the modern world, Captain America is working for the S.H.I.E.L.D. But he suspects that something is not right within S.H.I.E.L.D.
Teaming up with Black Widow and Falcon, the trio must uncover the espionage that has been plaguing S.H.I.E.L.D since World War II.
Guardians Of The Galaxy (Set In 2014)
Peter Quill, a child from earth abducted by the aliens has become a space pirate. He steals a mysterious orb, after which different forces of the galaxy go after him in order to retrieve the orb.
But once Peter learns the truth about the orb, he and his group of friends (self-proclaimed as Guardians of the Galaxy) that he created along the way must take back the orb in order to save the universe.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 (Set In 2014)
After saving the universe, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ find themselves saved by a mysterious God-like celestial who turns out to be Peter Quill’s biological father.
Soon Peter discovers that he too has celestial powers and tries to improve them.
But soon he realizes the evil intentions of his father. Pater must stop him at all costs while protecting his group and friends.
Avengers: Age Of Ultron (Set In 2015)
After facing both extra-terrestrial and internal threats, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner work on a global defense system named ‘Ultron’ that would react to both the threats and protect the earth.
Soon they stumble upon a scepter previously wielded by Loki. In the scepter, they discover an artificial intelligence which they use for Ultron.
But soon the sentient form comes to the conclusion that in order to save the earth, humanity must be defeated.
The avengers come back together to save the planet from Ultron. The movie introduces Vision, Wanda, and more infinity stones.
Ant-Man (Set In 2015)
Unable to find a stable job, an ex-convict decides to rob a house, only to find a suit in the safe that shrinks him to the size of an insect.
Terrified, he returns the suit but is arrested. The scientist behind the suit approaches him in jail and offers him the suit, but on one condition, that he must save the world from a developing horror.
Captain America: Civil War (Set In 2016)
With the world getting used to superheroes and extra-terrestrial beings, the UN decides to form a panel that will oversee Avenger’s actions and operations.
The Avengers get divided on this, forming two groups. One led by Captain America, believing that they are better off acting independently and one led by Iron Man, who believes in oversight. The movie introduces new superheroes in the MCU namely Black Panther and Spider-Man.
Black Panther (Set In 2016)
After the death of the king of Wakanda in Captain America: Civil War, his son T’Challa (Black Panther) is sworn as the new king after their tribal competition for the throne.
But another competitor to the throne arises that wants to reveal the true identity of Wakanda to the world and export their Wakandan weapons.
Spider Man: Homecoming (Set In 2016)
Set after the civil war, Peter Parker (Spider-Man) is struggling with keeping up with his two identities.
One as a high school student and another as a superhero, wanting to become a full-time Avenger.
Although warned by Tony Stark to not overdo and over engage with criminals, Spider-Man must save the world from a very dangerous villain.
Black Widow (Set In 2016)
Black Widow has been labeled as a wanted fugitive after the events of Captain America: Civil War, amidst her hiding, she stumbles upon a string of events that leads her to her past.
She must save the world along with dealing with the monsters from her past.
Doctor Strange (Set In 2016)
When Dr. Stephen Strange, a world-renowned and arrogant surgeon’s car crashes, his hands are severely injured to the point that he cannot operate anymore.
Following a story of a person who regained his lost leg, Dr. Strange follows the story where he is taken to ‘Ancient One’ a sorcerer of mystic arts.
Under the apprenticeship, Dr. Strange learns to control mystical energy but soon earth faces threat from an evil from which only he can save it.
Thor: Ragnarök (Set In 2018)
The prophesied Ragnarök is upon the nine realms. Thor defeats the fire demon believing that he has stopped it.
Odin, before dying tells him that it is inevitable. Odin’s death liberates Thor and Loki’s sister Hela, who was imprisoned by Odin because she became too ambitious and powerful.
Hela quickly defeats Thor and Loki and takes over Asgard, their home planet. Thor must rise again to save his planet and his people.
Ant Man And The Wasp (Set In 2018)
Due to his involvement with Avengers, Ant-Man has been placed on house arrest.
Hank Pym and his daughter Hope Van Dyne want Ant-Man’s help in retrieving their wife and mother as she went missing in the quantum realm and they believe that Ant-Man can help them.
But opening the quantum realm brings about other challenges for them that they must face.
Avengers: Infinity War (Set In 2018)
This is the movie where all the different movies and plotlines converge. Taking place in 2018, this movie is the first installment of the two-part saga.
Thanos is determined to collect all six infinity stones so that he can fulfill his obnoxious quest of killing half of the universe.
The Avengers along with Guardians of the Galaxy, the army of Wakanda, Sorcerer disciples of the Ancient One all join forces to stop Thanos at all cost.
Avengers: Endgame (Set In 2023)
The second installment to the two-part saga, Avengers Endgame is set in 2023, 5 years after the fateful destruction of the universe by Thanos.
Ant-Man escapes from the quantum realm and learns about the things that transpired.
But his journey through the quantum realm hints to the avengers about the possibility of time travel.
Reuniting the surviving heroes, the group Is determined to undo Thanos’s destruction and restore balance to the universe.
Wandavision (Set In 2023)
Three weeks after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Wanda, and Vision are an ideal suburban couple, living normal lives while concealing their true identities.
But their surroundings are changing much more rapidly than it normally should, which causes the couple to suspect that something is not right.
Spider Man: Far From Home (Set In 2023)
In the aftermath of Avengers’ Endgame, while the earth is happily celebrating the return of their deceased loved ones, the superheroes are shaken due to the demise of Iron Man; Peter Parker being the most affected.
Invited by Nick Fury to join the Avengers, Peter declines the number of times, but when the earth and his friends are really in danger, he must save them.

Set after Avengers: Endgame, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings is the first Marvel movie to have a predominantly Asian cast.
Working as a valet with his best friend, Shang-Chi lives a quiet life. But when the ghosts of his past reappear, he must fight to protect his family and save the world from mystic mythological creatures.
